CNBC is very entertaining and that is the goal, entertainment.  Sure you may learn a little about money, finance, economics and investing by watching but the reality is that they are in the business of eyeballs because like all TV, they sell advertising so often times, they are very sensationalist.
The market goes up and everyone's wearing party hats.  The market goes down and everyone is dour and they are discussing financial armageddon.
If you make your investment decisions based on watching CNBC or any financial show, you will end up spinning around and get nowhere.  So, if you watch, don't take it too seriously, it's entertainment.
